Hi everyone and welcome back to Bigg Beauty!
Just a quick one today as I was FINALLY able to get my hands on the BYS Cosmetics Peach Palette that I have seen a lot of on Instagram and Youtube, and I wanted to share my first impressions of the palette and some swatches. It retails on the website for $16.95, but I stumbled across mine at my local Kmart for only $12.
First of all, the packaging is really cute. It comes in a lovely embossed tin, and the layout of shadows is very cohesive. It is similar to an Urban Decay Naked palette in layout if you had to compare it to a higher-end product. I’m a little bit worried about how long the clasp (is that what you call it? the latch? the bit that holds it together?!) is going to last, as the interior of the palette feels like quite flimsy plastic that could easily snap, but for such an affordable price it’s not something to really complain about.
Although I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet, I was very pleasantly surprised at how well the shadows swatched, particularly the deeper shades. There was a fair bit of fall out, but almost all of the reviews I’ve seen of this palette so far warned of this so it came as no great shock. The shadows are lovely and smooth and the colour payoff is great, particularly for the darker shades. The only one that didn’t swatch well was the lightest matte shade (Dainty), but I will only use this one as a base to build other shades on top of.
Something that really stood out to me about this palette is that the shades have names, which is something rarely seen in more affordable palettes! All of BYS’s products are cruelty free and a lot are also vegan which is wonderful to see.
My swatches are below. Photos were taken in natural light on my Samsung Galaxy S7 with no colour editing.
I can’t wait to put this palette to the test and I’ll update on Instagram when I do.
Have you tried this palette, or are there any other affordable eyeshadow palettes that you love? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
